The Surrogacy Process:

Step by Step

Step 1:

Surrogate Application

Start by completing our quick online surrogacy application. To qualify as a gestational surrogate, you must:

  • Be 20–39 years old

  • Must have a BMI of less than 32

  • Have had at least one healthy pregnancy and delivery

  • Must live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident

  • Not receiving food stamps or government-provided cash aid

You do not have to have health insurance coverage. A health insurance policy will be provided to you at no cost.

Step 2:

Medical Screening

You’ll receive:

  • A medical screening at a top fertility clinic

  • A psychological screening to confirm emotional readiness

  • Criminal background check for safety and peace of mind

You will not have to come out of pocket financially for any step of the surrogacy process

Step 3:

Matching

You will be matched with hopeful parents who align with your values and preferences.

You choose the family that you want to help.

We work with all types of families and single parents across the country and internationally who need your help to make their miracle child possible.

Step 4:

Legal Contract

The legal contract known as the gestational surrogacy agreement (GSA) is the customized, detailed legal agreement that is in full compliance with the law in the state of your residence.

The contract includes:

  • Medical Decisions

  • Establishment of Parental Rights for Intended Parents

  • Pregnancy Plan

  • Fertility Cycle Plan

  • Medical Expenses

  • Legal Fees

  • Lost Wages

  • Travel

  • Surrogate’s Compensation

  • Child Care

  • Protects Parties with Breach Procedures and Remedies

  • Confidentiality

  • Future Contact

  • Relinquishment of Parental Rights of Surrogate and Spouse

  • Health and Life Insurance Coverage for the Surrogate

An attorney specializing in fertility and surrogacy will be provided to represent you, and the family that you are helping will cover your attorney fees.

Step 5:

Embryo Transfer

Once the legal agreement has been signed by all parties, you’ll begin medications to prepare your body for the embryo transfer. A top fertility clinic and doctor will create your cycle medication protocol and supervise your body’s response to ensure the optimum results.

The embryo that will be transferred to your uterus will have been created using the parents’ genetic material, ensuring that the baby you carry has no genetic link to you.

Step 6:

Pregnancy Support

Throughout the pregnancy, you’ll receive:

  • The highest level of pregnancy care, near your home, with the OBGYN doctor of your choice.

  • Monthly compensation payments

  • 24/7 One-on-one support and access to your surrogacy navigator

  • Optional monthly support from a counselor specializing in surrogacy

  • Optional weekly surrogate agency meet-ups with local surrogates to share experiences and support

  • Optional surrogate agency event and recreational meet-ups

  • A dedicated insurance and billing specialist to manage your monthly premiums, all out-of-pocket payments, and invoices up to 12 months after you deliver

As a surrogate, you can earn $70,000–$120,000+, with additional bonuses and gifts for experienced surrogates and special circumstances.

Step 7:

Delivery Day

You'll give the gift of life—bringing immeasurable joy to your family and the family you chose to help.

Delivery will occur in a hospital of your choice, near your home, with the full support of the agency, your individually dedicated surrogacy navigator. Your family and friends are welcome to be in attendance if you wish.

You’ll have the option ahead of time to decide how to make a birth plan with the parents you help to ensure you have the best experience possible.

Step 8:

Postpartum & Recovery Support

After the birth, you’ll receive continued care and emotional support as you recover.

Many surrogates stay in touch with their intended families and even choose to do a second journey later.

If you decide you do not want to stay in touch with the family you help, that can also be arranged.
